Atos UK&I GAAD 2022 – Accessibility at Scale (Virtual)

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know (Virtual)

With the increasing popularity of coding bootcamps, people turn to these programs for new and rewarding careers a clear skills gap exists: Accessibility isn’t part of the bootcamp curriculum. Designing Neuroinclusive Classrooms (Virtual)

Increasing Inclusion through Participatory Design Ethics: Empowering Marginalised Groups and Vulnerable Citizens (Virtual)

This event is an inaugural lecture. Professor Anastasios Maragiannis will present an overview of co-design methodologies, demonstrating how embedding inclusivity ethics at the baseline of such processes can result in immediate benefits for the designer and the end-user. During the event, will outline research that mobilising inclusivity ethics, an under-investigated aspect of design training and discourse can significantly improve design practice research for the 21st-century world we live in.

Product Accessibility Open Office Hours & 12-Hour Livestream (Private/Internal)

#CleanUpTheWeb Challenge (Activity)

Let’s catch some accessibility bugs and reduce the number of barriers across the web together. To help collect and share helpful issue data, we’re opening up axe DevTools Pro features surrounding #GAAD for free 3-day trials, even if you’ve started one before. By finding and sharing Critical and Serious accessibility issues for the sites you love – in a positive and helpful way – you can help trigger the change in culture some orgs need.

CROMA visit (Private/Internal)

18 May 2022 – 19 May 2022 | 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Europe/Madrid (Spain)

TMC has designed the activity “Veure-hi amb les orelles, sentir-hi amb els ulls” (Listening with your ears, seeing with your eyes) as part of the CROMA programme (Fundació Autònoma Solidària). Children in schools in the area surrounding UAB have been working on the co-creation of a 360º video and have learned about accessibility services. On 18 May they will be visiting our research team at the university to show the results from their workshops.
