Fix Your Content Day (Virtual)

The objective of the day is to mobilize instructors and staff to fix as many digital course files as possible through Blackboard Ally. Youth Innovation Projects on Global Accessibility (Activity)

Youth Innovation Projects supports Special Olympics Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities as they come together to design and implement their visions of inclusion in their schools and communities. Since 2018 we have support over 850 Youth Leaders implementing 500 projects worldwide. Cycle 8’s theme will be Global Accessibility to help highlight the need for increased digital accessibility with the disability community. We will be highlighting the projects on our platforms.

Launch of ScreenReader training app (Virtual)

On May 19th we will launch our free ScreenReader training app. The app has been developed together with visually impaired and blind people. The app teaches all VoiceOver and TalkBack gestures, plus navigation and text editing actions. The app will become available at noon through our website https://screenreader.app.

That’s how we like to do accessibility at Catalyst 😉 We shared this list of resources via email company-wide, and at our fortnightly Accessibility Forum the following week, we will be discussing our usual topics about accessibility plus exploring the resources a bit together.

BA Digital are hosting our first Global Accessibility Awareness Day event. We’re hosting speakers from the digital, aviation and accessibility advocacy areas who will give be giving some short talks throughout the day. They will be talking about their experience and expectations when it comes to travelling as a person with a disability. This will be an internal only event.
