Panel discussion by people with disabilities on accessibility for people without disabilities. Accessibility is not only for people with disabilities, so the panel looks to highlight how their accessibility needs benefits many other people. In a world where diversity and inclusion are drivers in the business sector, accessibility needs to be understood, actioned and implemented holistically. Without accessibility – diversity and inclusion cannot be achieved. The panel discussion hopes to teach attendees how many people can benefit from accessibility within the South African and African context.

Ampersand Collaborations Perluète Founder, Stephany Peterson, unites with Prude Inc. All Women Project Committee for a generative dialogue in digital setting. The shared intention of the gathering is the exploration of social constructs of identity, such as ageism, and how institutions and systems can embody trustworthiness in addressing these issues. A focus will be on the lived and learned experiences through storytelling and sharing, complemented with practices and concrete actions that locate barriers as issues within the environment rather than the individual. At the 2023 Global Accessibility Awareness Day, OTP Bank will host a roundtable discussion and short presentations to explore the challenges and opportunities of implementing accessibility, examine experiences and processes on the road to accessibility. During the presentations, a brief showcase will be given on how accessibility was implemented and the challenges that were faced. One of the main topics of the event is the possibility of universal design in the digital world, and the importance of inclusive design will also be emphasized.
